Charles greeted by Parisians as Liberator

Occupation going smoothly, about to commence the "toppling of monuments to dictators" and "looting of museums" phase of invasion.

Parisians are super-nice. Everyone speaks English. The graffiti here is far superior to what I see in NYC. Clothes are no more fashionable than in NYC. City closes down around 1:30 AM on a Friday night.

I've accomplished my first goal: get someone to understand a sentence I speak in French.

Onto my second goal: every city seems to have its own palette of colors; articulate what's distinctive about Paris's palette. The most distinctive visual element of New York to me isn't a color per se: its the way the sidewalks and streets sparkle with tiny particles of glass.

This video is great. I can take or leave the song though.
