Fantastic day... perfect lunch at Baratin, perfect dinner at Stephanie and Christiane's. 10+ lovely members of the international artistic set wandering down conversational alleys. Err... yes! There's probably a foreign language that has a word for "person who makes the way forward smooth." That, for me, is Stephanie and Christiane.
There were four Americans there... we left first, together. I wonder what language they switched to when we left.
Somebody stole my/Lerato's bike: a bike so broken that it couldn't be fixed, that was locked to a fence. !!! I have taken a solemn oath to stop swearing/swear less (oaths don't count). Otherwise this paragraph would be more salty.
Seriously, I have to swear less. I'm a career offender.
ps. I just discovered a great cocktail: 1 part pink grapefruit juice, 1 part Suze. I hereby dub this drink the "Bitters Chinois." Hmm, I need a better name.
For the last few months, Jason and I have been trying to think of an idea for a fundraiser we could organize to benefit a non-profit. Our latest idea was for a bartender-contest-judging contest. ie. the more money you raise, the more cocktails you get to "judge" in a bartending contest.
Did I mention that all I eat is beef tartare and snails? I had a close encounter with a bone marrow entree this weekend on La Butte Aux Cailles that haunts me still.
Song of the day: The National - Fake Empire.
