Weekend of much weekending.
Went to the Opera with Lerato on Saturday. The NY Met had better singing, far better set design (oh hecks yes), more fun, a more beautiful opera house, a better dressed audience - and it generally delivered on the idea of what I expected the Opera experience to be. But the Paris Opera rocked my world. The actress (not a typo) who played Romeo twice moved me to tears... at the age-worn tale of Romeo and Juliet, no less. There might be something to this Opera shiznatch after all.
Then, we went to another of Dan's restaurant recommendations: La Verra Vole on Canal St. Martin. Tip! The food was good at this wine bar, but the atmosphere was spectacular. No hyperbole, I loved our server Nicholas, who generously shared his love of music and wine (and life) with us.
Sunday, I had dinner with Bruno at Stephanie and Christiane's... hmm, wonderful?!? I arrived feeling exhausted and down - savoring the company around the table was chicken soup.
On the downside, I slept it so late every day this weekend that I accomplished jack booty.
Song of the Day: Slum Village - Fall N Love. This is my anthem.
Bonus Beat: Cat Power - Satisfaction (Live in Paris).
